HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLES The Prime Minister has received the following, message from the High Commissioner : — LONDON, 14th October (8.40 p.m.) Official.— British troops engaged with the enemy towards the left of the Allies' line, with the result that the Germans were pressed back slightly on their flank. The fighting is being cohducted in a minihg centre, and this makes rapid progress difficult.
