This week a seafarer named Herbert Lawton was arrested for deserting the s,B. Star of Victoria at Wellington as far back as April last He pleaded ■guilty before Mr. W G. Riddell, S.M., yesterday, and was sent to gaol for fourteen days. A party of Invea'cargillites. who recently paid a visit to the hills about Kingston, shot 107 goate. On Sunday a party vf fif* teen members of the Watereiders 1 XJnion visited the Seven Mile for the purpose of patrolling the beach.es, in order te ascertain if any bodies or aay further wreckage had come ashore. The party went as far north as the Fourteen Mile. A quantity of wreckage, consisting oi! cabin fittings, together with & pair of boots, was the only discovery made, there being no signs of any of the bodies of the victims.
