IN THE NORTH SEA
THE GERMAN MINE-LAYING, AN EXPERT OPINION. LONDON, 4th October. Commenting on German mine-laying, the naval correspondent of The Times says : " It does not in the least prevent our fleets from making periodical gwoops throug the North Sea or appearing m Heligoland Bight. While the theatre of war is limited, still there is a large portion in which the fleets can operate. German submarines cannot see under water, and their activities shonld be considerably curtailed by the German mines."
