Weather.—B, blue sky, be the atmosphere clear or heavy; C, clouds, passine clonds; D, drizzling rain; Tf, foggy; Q, gloomy, dark weather; H,/hail; L, lightnins; M, misty; 0, overcast, the whole sky covered with thick clonds; P, passing showers; Q, squally; R, rain, continued rain; S, snow; T, thunder; U, ugly, threatening appearance; Z, hazy.

At 9 a.m. to day the following forecast was Issued for the subsequent 24 hours:— Windp.—Moderate to strong south-easterly northward of New Plymouth and Napier; variable and strong breezes elsewhere, but westerly prevailing, squally at times, and changing to southerly after 1i hours. Barometer.—Little movement in the North; falling temporarily in he South, but rise fast in the South alter 24 hours. Sea.—Considerable on the west coart of the South Island and in Foveaux Strait; rongh swell at Bast Cape and between Castlepoint and Kaikoura; moderate elsewhere, Tides.—Moderate en the west coast of the South Islnud; good elsewhere Warning signals fcr northerly gales are exhibited at Nugget Point and Centre Island.
