SUCCESS OF BELGIAN ARMS
GERMANS MARCHING TOWARDS FRANCE ANTWERP-GHENT DISTRICT CLEAR. (Received September 12, 10 a.m.) ANTWERP, 11th September. The Germans have completely evacuated the region of the Scheldt between Antwerp and Ghent. One of the German corps is marching towards France, after taking part in engagements on the right bank of the Scheldt in the triangle made by •Oudenarde,,Courtrai, and Renaix (an area about 40 miles w"est of Brussels). The Belgians are pursuing and harassing them. . BACK TO LOUVAIN LONDON, 11th September. The Belgians have assumed a triumphant offensive from Antwerp, driving the Germans back to the vicinity of Louvain. (Received September 12, 8.30 a.m.) OSTEND, 12th September. The Belgians have driven the Germans back to the environs of Louvain. VIGOROUS OFFENSIVE MOVEMENT AMSTERDAM, 10th September. The Belgians continue a vigorous offensive movement. They have driven the Germans from the neighbourhood of Aerschot and Diest, capturing three hundred prisoners. , [Aerschot and Diest are both in South Brabant, and are about ten miles apart. Aerschot lies twenty-three miles north-east of Brussels, and Diest* is seventeen miles north-east of Louvain.]
