♦ BANK OF ENGLAND RETURN. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) LONDON, 10th September. The Bank of England return issued for the week ended Wednesday, 9th September, is as under : —

THE MONEY MARKET. The Bank of England discount rate for throe months' bills is 3£ per cent., against 4i per cent, last week, and 4a per cent. last year. Short Joans, are quoted at 2^ per cent., against 3 per'oarrt. laet week, and 2i per cent, last year. WHEAT. Wheat is fully sixpence lower on a sharp American decline; 47s 3d is offerad for South Australian afloat. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Butter. — The butter market is very quiet. Danieh is in fair supply and realises 124s to 128s per ovrt. Quotations for Australian and New Zealand makes are nominally unchanged in the absence of supplies at 118s to 124s for Australian and 125s to 130s for New Zealand. Cheese.— Cheese market is firm. New Zealand white and coloured makes are. Is higher at 75s and 73s per cwt respectively. Bacon. — The market is firm. Sugar. — Foreign granulated sugar on the spot Bells at 30s 6d per cwt compared with 30s last week, and about 16? at the end of July. BRADFORD TOPS. The Bradford market for top-making wools is weak, excepting low crossbreds. Quotations : —64'b, l£-d lower at 29s per lb ; super 60's, l£d lower at 28d ; common 60'b, l|d lowor at 27d ; 56's, Id lower at 23^d; 50's, 20£ d. PIG-IRON. Pig-iron, Middlesbrough No. 3, 5d lower at 51s per ton.
