JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BOARD
A UNIQUE POSITION. What is considered a unique position has occurred in connection with the Johnsonvilie Town Board. Under the Act the whole of the members of the board — Commissioners F. T. Mooro (chairman), E. Bould. O. Jerusalem, H. Parker, J. A. Way, W. Angell, and W. Skinner — are to retire from office this month, but are eligible for re-election. The board's clerk (Mr. A. Mills) recently invited nominations for the vacancies which are about to occur, but, singular to say, none were received up to the appointed hour (noon to-day). It is understood that one or two ot the Commissioners did not intend to seek re* election, but evidently through some oversight those who had decided to stand again neglected to get themselves nominated for another term. The present position is that an extraordinary vacancy has occurred, and that the clerk will at once advertise for fresh nominations. Until a new board has been elected the present members will remain in office.
