The famous Scottish comedian Harry Lauder performed before a crowded audience, which included His Excellency the Governor and the Countess of Liverpool, at the Grand Opera House last evening. He had scored an extraordinary success on the Saturday, and the second performance repeated that success. The programme was the same as that given the first evening, and contained several of the best-known Lauder ditties. As before, the ginger induced the audience to join ( heartily in "A Wee Deoch and Dons." Capital support was given by the company of clever variety artists who assist the principal— Miss Kitty Ryan, Messrs. Jack Arth, Selwyn Driver, Ernest Sewell, Miss Irene Bercheny, M. Yorka, and the Three Hassans — and excellent music was provided by the orchestra under Mr. Horace Sheldon. The programme will be repeated to-night, but to-morrow, Thursday, and Friday new items will be introduced. To-morrow a matinee will be given. On Friday afternoon a special patriotic matinee will be held. Mr. Lauder and his company have given ., their services free, and the whole of the proceeds will be given to the Patriotic Fund.
