TERMONDE DISTRICT FLOODED
MANY GERMANS DROWNED FIERCE FIGHTING WEST OF MALINES ENEMY LOSES THREE THOUSAND MEN. (B/ Telegriph.— Press Association.- Copyright.) (Received September 8, 1 p.m.) OSTEND, 7th September. The Belgians in flooding the Termonde district drowned many Germans. A number of guns were also lost. During fierce fighting at Thisselt, westward of Malines, the Germans lost 3000, besides prisoners who were sent to Antwerp. Prince Ligne, Count Villermont, and two others, when reconnoitring in an armed motor-car, were ambushed byGermans. Prince Ligne was seriously wounded by four bullets. The rest were killed.
