Butter.-^The butter market is quiet, with, only a hand-to-mouth demand. Danish makes 125s to 130s per cwt, a drop of 2s on the week on best qualities. Australian stocks .are practically cleared, and are quoted nominally at 118s to 1245, while New Zealand is about the same as last week, at 125s to 130s. Cheese.— The cheese market is very firm, owing to Government ' purchases. New Zealand and Canadian lines are quoted at 72s per cwt for coloured and 74s for white, an advance of 2s in each case. Bacon. — The bacon market is firm. Sugar. — Foreign granulated sugar on the spot sells at 30s per cwt, compared with 29<r 6tt last week and about 16s afc the end of July. BRADFORD TOPS. The Bradford market for top-making wools is quiet, and for merinos the demand is stagnant. There is small enquiry for low quality and medium crosabreds.
