MORE STEAMERS CAPTURED
A private message received in Australia states that the German-Australian steamer Elbing had been captured by the Belgians. Advice received before tho war stated that tho gibing was to load at Gothenburg for Australian ports, and 'was' to sail about the 15th instant. It is probable that this vessel may have loaded fiorae general merchandise at Hamburg before proceeding to the Baltic. It was also reported that the United Tyser Liner Birkenfels, en route to Australian ports from New York, has been ■captured and taken to Capetown. A previous message stated that the Birkonfels had put into a Brazilian port. Other advices 6tated that the GermanAuotralian Company's steamer Ilannn, which left Hamburg on 11th July for Fremantle, Adelaide, antl Sydney, had. been seized in Table Bay, South Africa.
