ASSISTING PRISONERS

"Of 724 prisoners roleased during tho year," states the annual report uf the Prisoners' Aid Sooiety, "366 have received help from us in various ways, and in addition 36 have been sent to work. Several young follows have been received direct from the court after being ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, and the society has used its good influences. In many cases Mr. E.
