LADIES' HOCKEY

TEAM TO MEET ENGLAND. Although all men's hockey, matches were postponed on Saturday, the' ladies' trial game took place on Karori Park under favourable conditions. : As was generally expected, the A team won easily, the final score being 7 goals to nil. The scorers were Misses Dobbyn (4), Carrick (2), and Pickering. Messrs. J. W. Cendall and C. P. MacKenzie refereed. After the match' Mr. Manning chose the- following players to represent Wellington in the match with the English ladies' team, which takes place on the Basin Reserve on Saturday nexfc:-*-Goal, Mies 0.
