In the House of Commons, on the Foreign Office debate, Sir Edward Grey (Minister for Foreign Affairs) stated that despite the treaty with Great Britain making China's position in gelation to Tibet secure, China had attempted to conquer Tibet and make it a province of China. If she Teaorted to the same policy in the future, thus disturbing the Indian frontier, Britain would undertake to mako the matter a very serious affair with China.
