Score* of people have been driven from their homes in Kansas City, and the whole of the wheat fields have been swept by floods, the corn damaged, and much live stock lost. As a result of heavy rains, the rivers flooded the surrounding country, and railroad traffic was demoralised. Many towns have been isolated. Storms in Central Ohio injured twenty persons, and caused damage to property, estimated at thousands of dollars. A tornado passed through Shelley County, working havoc with the buildings It destroyed the telephone and telegraph services. Lightning fired two krge oil tanks near Newark, and many farm buildings were .also ignited.
