STONEMASONS DEMANDS
CONCILIATION PROCEEDINGS. The Wellington Stonemasons' demands for a 44 hour in place of d 45 hour week and an advance in pay of from Is 8d to Is 9d per hour,, and other impio\ed conditions, v/ere considered this morning at a sitting of the Conciliation Council appointed to dual, with the dispute. Tho assessors for the men weie Messrs. J. Barr, A. Venndl, and R. S. Lithgow, and for the employer's Messrs. A. M. Wilson, C. Mills, and W. L. Thompson. Mr. W. A. W. Grenfell appeared as the employers' advocate. The Commissioner (Mr. P. Hally) presided, and tho council immediately went into committee. The council was still sitting when The Post wont to press. _ It is understood that the principal points in dispute will probably be referred to the Arbitration Court.
