DEFENCE CHANGES

IMPERIAL OFFICERS ARRIVE. Among the passengers who arrived from London by the Rotorua to-day were Captain C. R. Macdonald, of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, and Captain Gibbon, of the Royal Irish Fusiliers, both of whom \vere_ accompanied by their wives and families. Captain Maedonald will succeed Lieut. 'Colonel Braithwaite (who has been appointed Chief of the General Staff in succession to Colonel Heard) as General Staff Officer for the Auckland Military District. Captain Gibbon will replace Lteut.Colonel Cochrane (who > has gone to Eng' hud) as Director of Military Operations.
