THEOSOPHICAL LECTURE

"The Art of Creation," was the subject of a Theosophical lecture delivered by Miss Home at the Society's Rooms last evening. The lecturer explained that the power to create is stronger in the most civilised races, and where mind is strongly developed, and it is not possessed by creatures below the rank of man. She referred to the Theosophical doctrine concerning the creation of ai solar system, and stated that nothing can be produced from nothing, and just as the artist is limited by the laws of the matter in which he works, but finds infinite variety for expression therein, so the Ligos evolves his universe from the matter of space, and while confining himself to the laws which the Absolute has imposed on it, so imbues it with his individuality that each solar system strikes its own distinctive note. She explained how the creative faculty increases with use. and how it may be developed in the common lound of daily life, and used as a means of hastening man's evolution towards perfection.
