EDUCATION BOARD
The monthly meeting of tho Wellington. Education Board was held ye&terday afternoon. Mr. R. Loo presided, and there wore also present : — Messrs. H. Freeman, J. Kebbeil, A. W. Hogg, J. G. W. Aitken, T. Moe&, and W. H. Field. { Money was granted for the works mentioned at the following schools : — Hutt District High School (relaying of drains), Te Marua (improvements to residence), Mitchelltown (repairs to right-of-way). Island Bay (timber retaining wall and asphalting), Te Nui (improving approaches), Te Aro (removing a partition for extra light), Petone Die' trict High School (metalling and grading site), Lanpdowne, Eketahuna, and Martinboro'ugh (improvement to latrinee). It was decided to make application for a grant to provide additional accommodation at Lanisdowne. An additional subsidy of £15 wae granted to Fernridge. The offer of a residence at Newman ■was referred to the clerk of works for a reports Several matters dealt with wore reported in last night's Post, and otheTs aro treated under separate headings today.
