AN ACTRESS - HEIRESS.

A young actress at the Theatre Francaise has inherited the property of the late M. Albert Edwards, the millionaire, who founded the Matin. The actress is Mme. Gabrielle Collona Romano, whom M. Edwards had known from* her childhood, and who had encouraged her in. her stage career. She was acting at Liege when thfc news of his death reached her. The solicitor sent for her, and read to her the will in her favour. The document, dated Paris, 7th April, 1913, begins s " This is my will. I appoint as my heiress my friend, Mademoiselle Gabrielle Collona Romano, who I affirm on my honour has been my friend solely in the highest and most immaterial sense of the word." Mme. Collona Romano has decided that if she definitely accepts the inheritance she will devote all the money to the building of an institution for poor children to be known as the " Edwards Home." According to certain reports, M. Edwards, who was married five times, and was on several occasions in the Divorce Court, had undergone considerable financial losses in recent years, and his estate ib enid now to icalise only £300,000 o» £250,000. •
