The trial of Charles Edward Fenner, the London stockbroker, who was arrested some weeks ago in Paris on charges of fraudulent conversion of certificates of American Marconi shares, I was continued. Fenner is charged with appropriating the sum of £37,059, of which Lord ♦Murray of Elibank was, as the then Chief Liberal Whip, the trustee. Lord Murray gave evidence that Fenner had made a clean breast, and had not attempted to conceal the misappropriation.
