FIFTH REGIMENT

BOUND FOR TAKAPAU. The Fifth Regiment will parade at the Thonidon Station at 9 o'clock tonight, and shortly after 10 o'clock will be on board a special train en route to tho encampment at Takapau. A muster of about 800 is anticipated, the men coming from Wellington and as far as Paruparnunm on the West to Kaitoke and Akatarawa on the East. LieutenantColonel Turner will be in charge of the detachment, with Captain Wilkinson directing the entraining, and Lieutenant Puttiuk as Transport Officer. The regiment will be accompanied by its band, under Bandmaster M'Comish, and al&o by the Engineers, under Captain Gibbes. A stop will be made, for coffee and sandwiches, at Palmerston North, and the troop train is due to arrive at Takapau about 8 o'clock to-morrow morning. The D. Battery, under Major Petherick, will parade at the Thorndon Station at 7.50 to-morrow morning, and leave for Takapau about half an hour kter. M
