Vessels arriving from London now are not bringing . u o many immigrants as is usually the cauc, but it is noticeable that th-e proportion of "asststeds" is much greater. For instance, the Ruahine, duo at Wellington next Tuesday, has oidy 188 tliird'da&ii passengers, find of this number 126 are coming out under the Government's scheme. No fewer than 93 were nominated by relatives in New Zealand, whicli is taken as a lair indication of the Department's activities 'within the ikaninioti. The pasfiagea of 31 immigrant*.— l 3 domestic servants, and 18 farm labourers — were arranged for by tho London office.
