Advice has been received locally to the effect that the 17,8. and A. steamer Tannenfeh was despatched from New York on the 28th March. Sim has a full cargo for Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland. Wellington. Lyttelton, and Duuedin, and is due here about the middle of June. NERGHANA AT MELBOURNE. Messrs. Bannatyne nnd Company have received a cable btating that the C. and D. liner Nerehana arrived at Melbourne on Friday last from London after a passage of 44 days. The vessel comes on to Wellington, via Sydney and Auckland, and is due here about the end of th& month. HOLLINGTON ARRIVES ADELAIDE. The steamer Hollington, running under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company, arrived at Adelaide last Friday from St. John (Newfoundland). She will subsequently come out to New Zealand ports, after calling at Melbourne and Sydney, and«is due. here aDout the 20th April. Owing to the rough state of the bar, the Arahtira was unable to set into Greymouth yesterday, and, after wailing outside for some time, returned last night to Wc-stport. She Is to leave Westyort at C o'clock this evening for Wellington. The Defender was fixed to leave Hokitika to-day for Wellington, and will return to the Coa&C on Thursday. Colliers from. Greymouth are due to arrive at Wellington as follow ;--Kine to-morrow, Po* liertia early on Thursday, and Rakanoa Saturday morning. The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the R.M.S.'Aorangl. which left San Francisco at 10 p.m.- on Thursday last for Papeete and ' Rarotonga, is bringing 15 passengers in all classes for New Zealand. Her cargo to be landed here comprises 445 tons of general, including 40,000 suWflcial feet of timber, in addition to the usual consignment of Island fruit. She' is due here on the 25th April. The Nikau made a special daylight excursion to Wellington yesterday, bringing 83 returning hop-pickers from Motueka. The vessel had a fairly good trip across Cook Strait. In consequence of the Karamea bar being unworkable the Mangapapa could not load there this trip, and instead of coming back to Wellington, she took a qargo from Westport to New Plymouth, where she arrived yesterday. From the latter port she will probably go to Tarakohe. On her next trip to the Chatham Islands the Himitangi will probably sail from this port on Saturday week, the 18th inst. She is to proceed via Lyttelton. Bound from London to Queensland ports, the F. and S. Line'H steamer Norfolk continued her voyage from Colombo on the 14th March. When she has completed discharge she is to t'akethe May loading in New Zealand for Boston and New York. •The departure of the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Kaikoura from Wellington foL' London, via ports, is lixed for 11 a.m. on Thursday next. The Norwegian barque Remonstrant, which recently arrived at Sydney from Buenos Aires, is now cv route to Westport, where she will load coal for the South Sea Islands. The Union collier Waihora is at present on the loading berth at Newcastle, and will sail for Wellington some time this ¦neck. Not having received telegraphed instructions at Castlepoint, the Kami arrived in port unexpectedly yesterday. She was immediately despatched for Tarakohe to load cement for Napier. Tho Union Company's training ship Aparima was to have left Calcutta last Thursday for the four principal New Zealand ports. She is due here early ii^May. With 2000 tons; of coal from Newcastle, the Melbourne Steamship Company's steamer Melbourne arrived in port on Sunday night.
