LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION

Sir Joseph Ward's visit to the Golden Bay district was signalised by a. banquet at Takaka at night, where Sir Jo&eph and Lady Ward weie presented with an address of welcome. Later, the Leader ot the Opposition delivered a political address on the lines of liis recent speeches to a, very , large gathering. He was accorded a vote ot' thanks and confidence. The meeting also adopted a motion supporting the candidature of tho lion. R. M'Kenzie, who announced his determination of contesting the Motuoka seat at the General Election. Sir Joseph Ward visited Collingwood to-day and ad<fressed a meeting. A motion of thanks and confidence was carried unanimously. .To-night he addressed the' largest meeting over held in Motueka. A vote was passed of warmest thanks and confidence in him and the Liberal Party.
