Tho declaratory judgment casa brought by the Seamen's Union lo de« termini! the legality or otlnuwise of the action of the Dunedin branch in taking a sectional ballot for the election of secretary is set down for hearing before his Honour the Chief Ju&tice (Sir Robeit Stout) at 10 a.m. to-morrow, at the Supreme Court. Sir John Findlay, K.C., will appear on behalf ol the Soft' j men's Union.

The funeral of the late Rev, David Meadowcroft (father of Mr. F. Meadowcroft, New Zealand representative for Messrs. Cadbury Bros.) took place this afternoon. There was ft large number !of relatives and frietidft present, 'the interment was made at Karon, the tlcv. J. U. Glasson, of the Terrace Congrcgn* tional Church, of which the late Mr. Meadowcroft was a member, officiating. A Masonic service was held at thograveside. Two prisoners will appear at th* Supreme Court for sentence on Saturday morning. They are Peters Hembrey. charged with committing an unnatural offence, and Charles llctny Lcamoti ItankiitH. alias Sydney Smith, charged with forgery and uttering. Between 5 and 6 o'clock this Morning a horse attached to one of Mr. Georfie Nosh's four-wheeled milk, carts took fright nt the bottom of tho Wadestown Hilt. Immediately it bolted, and had not gone fat 1 when the vehicle was upset, and milk wits splashed all over the roadway. The two men who were in the cait wore injnied.
