THEFT FROM A STEAMER
(BT IKLBGRAPB— PRLSS 4S&OCMTION.) DUNEDIN, This Day. Afc the Police Court this morning, James Embleton and James I'imoney, firemen, were charged with embezzling ship's stores from the steamer Wainiiite —viz, 12 bottles of whisky, 14 of beer, one of brandy, and two of wine, valued at £3, the property of the New Zealand Shipping Company. Accused pleaded guilty of stealing the whisky, but not the other liquor. _ They were sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment, and the Magistrate ordered that £2 Bs. the value of the whisky, be forfeited from their AVages.
