BAPTIST CHURCH
The anniversary of the Wellington Baptist Church was observed last Sunday. The Rev. A. T. Brainsby preached in the morning,' while the Rev. Keith Eweu, formerly in charge of the church at Berhampore, who is leaving early this month on an extended trip to the Old Country, occupied the pulpit in the evening. In the past it has been the custom to hold, in connection with the anniversary, a- tea meeting, followed by a public meeting, at which the annual reports have been presented. That arrangement has been abandoned this year in favour of an "at home," which is to be held between 4.45 and 7.30 o'clock this afternoon, and a lecture in the church this evening on " lan M'Laren " by the Rev. A. T. Brainsby, who knows the celebrated Scottish author personally. During the evening Mrs. Brainsby will sing several Scotch songs.
