BEAUTY SPOT THREATENED. The Bush-covered banks of Mirror Creek lending into Lake Mahinapua, comprise one of tho most noted beauty spots in the Dominion. At yesterday's meeting of the Council of the Now Zealand forest and Bird Protection Society, it was leported that the bush was threatened with destination on account of the invading axe. It wast decided to at once bring the matter under the notice of the Minister of Lands. It was also decided to Toward to the Prime Minister and Sir Joseph Waid a resolution asking that once any forest is set aside us a scenic reserve it be made impossible to lift the icservutiou without uu Act of Parliament.
