Sir,— We in Kilbirme pay 2s 3d per cwt for coat, and one merchant, who has a big business here, charges 2s 3d per nwt. cash and 'Ss 6d per cwt booked. f have a friend hi N*«vtown (town end) who only pay Is lOd per ' cwt. I have other friends in Newtown (Park end) who pay 2s per cwt. In Ber.hanipore coal merchants also charge 2s -3d per cwt. b'lt they have at long way to cart cod,l, whereas in Kilbirnie coal is artpd hO t n the Miramar wharf So wiijr hsve we (<o pay so much ? It is always cheaper Mo get coal from the State Depot,, but lots of people cannot affoid to gpt more than one bag at a time, hdA they are generally at the last shovelful before they can order more. They could not wait for the State coal, as you generally have to wait at least three days before your order is sent, and One would not like to order only one bag from the State Depot, — 1 am, etc., WORKING MAN'S WIFE.
