Friends of the families are j confident that Wellington will do some' thing worthy of the city's reputation for kindness to the unfortunate. A subscription list has been opened at the office of The Evening Post, and contributions will be acknowledged. Mr. Bamngton Waters, local manager of the Fuller-Hrennan Vaudeville Com* pany, hfl6 arranged that a matincd shall be given on Saturday next, the gross proceeds of which will be handed over to the relief fund. The relief fund which has been opened at the Upper Hutt is headed by a dona» tion of £o 05 from Mr. Albert M, Samuel.
