From time to time very successful raids have been carried out by the police. Evidence of police activity in this matter was given in the city this afternoon, when a man named Joseph Farnwork, a well-known figure on the waterfront, was arrested in Lower Queenstreet by Senior-Sergeant Rutledge on a charge of making bets in a public place.
