FOOTBALL RUGBY
Signs that Rugby is getting under way again were not wanting- on Saturday afternoon. Most o£ the clubs took the field and indulged in practice games. As was only to be expected " form " was out of the question at this stage in the season, but as far as could be. judged players were no worse off in this respect than is usually the case when they don the jersey after a lengthy spell. At the Athletic Park Ponek'e and Oriental were seen in action, and many players found, themselves breathing hard after a few minutes' play. Miramar saw three clubs, Melrose, Berhampore, and Old Boys' at practice, and besides being out of condition they were handicapped by the rough state of the ground. In the circumstances it is too early to forecast with any degree of exactitude the form of the various teams on Saturday's showing.
