THE HIMITANGI
A rumour was ' circulated in the city this morning to the effect that a serious mishap bad occurred to the Chatham Islands steamer Ilimitangi. Enquiries wero made by a Post reporter, and it appeals that the statement has absolutoly no foundation. The Himitangi left Waitangi (Chatham Islands) on Tuesday evening last for Pitt Island and Lyttelton, and is due at the latter poit some time to-day or to-monow.
In the Magistrate's Court report published yesterday it was stated that Michael M'Hugh was convicted of driving a motor-van without a registration mark. It has been pointed out that defendant merely committed a technical breach of the bylaw, and on payment of 7s Court coetß by the defendant the information was dlsmiued..
