Brentnall, 8.A., student secretary of the Calcutta Y.W.C.A., who passed through Wellington yesterday to Christchurch and Dunedin. Mies Brentnall has just completed a period of deputation work in Palmerston North, Woodville, Napier, Wanganui, and Auckland., Her graphic descriptions of life amongst Indian girls have been much enjoyed in v the .Sftckland Association. Miss Brentnall is a fluent and original speaker, with the gift of making her audience see the scenes she seeks to portray. She expects to return to Wellington about the middle of April, when she will spend af week, which will be divided between the students interested in the Missionary Settlement for University Women and the Young Women's Christian Association. The senior phyaical culture class of the Young" Women's Christian Association commenced its session at the V.M.C.A. gymnasium last evening, under the directorship of Mr. E. Threadgill, V.M.C.A. physical director. The junior department of the Y.W.C.A. also held its physical culture class in . the clubroom, Miss Newman being the instructress.
