The Rochette enquiry revealed the fadfc tKat French politicians' methods resemble shady blackmail.. It was shown that M. Caillaux, in order to prevent M. Barthou talking, had a private conversation reported by two secretaries hidden behind curtains in the room in which the conversation occurred.
