TAKAPAU CAMP

Orders recently issued contain fuvthsr information -hi regard ; to the Divisional Camp to be held at Takapau this year. The mounted units and country compaiii«s go under canvas on 27th April, all other units following on Ist May. The camp breaks up on 9th May, to be followed on the 11th by. the casual camp. Chaytor. will be- in command of the camp, which, 'for administrative/ purposes, will be split up into brigade areas. There will be the mounted brigade area, under Colonel A. H. Hussell ; the infantry brigade area under Colonel R. W. Tate; and the artillery brigade- area- (including the mountain battery and engineers) with the senior officer in charge. Major Temperley will be general staff 'otiicer; Captain G. T. Hall, orderly officer ; Captain J. T. Boeworth, aSGifctant-adjutant and quarter-master-general ; Lieut,-Colonel M. Begg, assistant-director of medical stores ; Captain N. C. Hamilton, assistant-director of supplies and transport; Captain G. C. Powlee, provost marshal; Captain J. M. Rose, divisional musketry instructor Arrangements have been made for a 'canteen, to be opened from 7 a.m. till 9.30 p.m., for each brigade area. Troops will be allowed no leave from camp, unless provided with a pass furnished regimentally. Strict precautions are to be taken to prevent intoxicating liquor being brought into camp, and Territorials found with it in their possession will b& placed under arrest. Out-of-pocket expenses incurred by men proceeding to camp -will be refunded by the Department. The tactical operations of the Various brigades will be extensive. On 4th May the artillery will co-operate with the mounted troops, artd on the Bth \\ itii the infantry brigade.
