Owing to rain, play in the cricket match between representatives of "Wellington and Auckland Post and Telegraph Offices was" abandoned, and stumps were drawn at 5.15 p.m. Auckland made 316, and Wellington replied with 208 (Jackson 34, Phillips 64, G*ace 25, Greig 35, Wilson 13)'. Following on, Wellington lost six wickets for 191 (Phillips not out 103, Grace 15, Greig 10, Schlater 32).
