WORLD'S WHEAT ACREAGE
SEVERE CHECK. DECLINE OF LIVE STOCK. (By Tclegraph.—lPress Association.— Copyright.) LONDON, sth March. Agricultural statistics for 1912, just issued, show that the expansion of the World's wheat acreage in 1910-11 received a severe check in 1912 ; . The. acreage in the British Empire declined by 2,287,000 acres and in Europe by 2,024,000^ acres, chiefly in Russia, while the United States lost 3,729,000. In the live stock returns, ' Australasia's reduction of 9,348,000 animals is the largest noted. The decline in European stock is very marked.
