An announcement lecently made that the North German Lloyd Company \va» to withdraw itestoaaners from Australia appears to bo 'only partially correct. Messrs. Castendyko and Kocke, Wellington agents to the line, have received ad vices to the effect thati to tho end of February the Sydney agents of the company had received no official statement as to tho future from the head office, Bremen, while they are still i«m» ing return ticket*!. On the other hand, the North German Lloyd is augmenting its cargo lines to Australia, and for this* purpose a large number of mudevn freight steamers have been, built already, and one is in course of construction.
