(IT TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) OAMAE-U, This Day. The official opening of the Chri6tchurch Meat Company's new works at Pukeuri took place to-day. A luncheon, at which representatives of the public bodies and business and faxming communities to the total number of several hundreds' were the guests of the directors, was held to celebrate the occasion. The visitors included the Hon. VV. Fraser, Minister for Public Works. The nev\- works arc capacious, with 90.000 feet floor spare, ajid will bo abl© to handle up to 3000 lambs daily. They have been built to suit the latest methods of treating meat, for export, and •will be a big factor in the industrial life of the district.
