ONSLOW BOROUGH
Very little business came before the fortnightly meeting of the Onslow Borough Council held last evening. There were present : The Mayor (Mr. F. Holdsworth) and Councillors B. Lynneberg, J. C. Gardner, Colin Monro, C. Bowden, Donald Monro, A. H. Hoby, and L. A. Brown. The sum of £429 4s 9d, in the district fund account, waa passed for payment. It was decided to take legal proceedings for the recovery of outstanding ratea which had earned the 10 per cent, penalty. Seven days' further notice, however, will be given. An unfavourable report was adopted in response to_a request for a subsidy towards covering the floor of the Khandallah Hall. The council has already received a cheque for £6 2s— the proceeds of a concert held. It was agreed to give the hall free of charge for any future entertainment for the purpose in view.
