SATURDAY'S SHOOTING .VARIABLE WIND. A variable wind on Saturday afternoon prevented any particularly high scoring by marksmen in the various club competitions. With five matches of the Club Championship already fired, Rifleman J. Burns holds a lead of 6 points. ' SUBURBS CLUB. The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club continued the shooting on Wednesday and Saturday over ranges of 300, 500, and 600 yafds for trophies presented by Mrs. J. G. Newton and Messrs. A. Laurenson, J. L. Turner, and H. Seaton. The best sdore (99)_ was put up by H. R-. Hunt. Two possibles were made at 500 yards by H. Boon and H. R. Hunt, and several 34's .were recorded. Scores: — A CLASS.

This being the shoot of the season, a special prize of £5 will be offered by the management of the club to the^ membev who can beat last year's Daily Mail winner (Mr. T. Goodall), who scored 196 out of a possible 210. On Saturday next the club will fire its rfnnual teams matches against Karon Rifle _Club No. 1 and No. 2 teams.
