HIMITANGI RESUMES
REPAIRS EFFECTED AT CHATHAMS. _ Very little delay was occasioned in fitting the new propeller and shaft to tho steamer Himitangi, which struck a submerged rock off Tuapeka, Chatham Islands, on the 4th January, for, , according to a wireless^ message received locally to-day, tho vessel is now taking in cargo for' Lyttelton and Wellington. She is to be despatched for Lyttelton on j Wednesday morning, and will afterwards visit Wellington in the ordinary course of her running. The Arapawa, which was commissioned to take the propeller and shaft to the disabled steamer, made a very smart trip to and from the Chathams, arriving back at Wellington early this morning. The Himitangi, although helploss, was found to be anchored in a safe position. he magisterial enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the mishap to the vessel will not be held before she arrives back at the mainland. The place and time for this have not yet been decided upon.
