, MEN RESUME. (BT IBLEORAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WESTPORT, Sth January. Work was resumed at the Westport Coal Company's Westport and Stockton mines to-day. No trouble was experienced. At Denniston 500, Millerton 471, and Stockton 130 men are employed. Two of the engine-driverß at Denniston, regarded as prominent in connection with industrial strife, were given notice that their services would not be required. LYTTELTON WATERSIDERS EX-STRIKERS' POSITION. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The new Watersiders' Union not complying with the direction of the Labour Department regarding the admission of ex-strikers, a meeting is to be held tonight to consider a report from the union officers who visited Wellington last week. Meantime there is no information. The new unionists appear to. realise that a preponderance ot ex-strikers is inevitable, as the departure of the Te Anau, the houseboat, will cause a number of strike-breakers to leave the wharves.
