NIAGARA IN A GALE
♦ — RECORD CARGO. (BT TBLROBAPH— FRBSS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Tlus Day. Two days after tho Niagara left Vancouver she encountered a gale of hurricano force lasting three days. The vessel was hovo-to for fifteen hours. Huge seas battered hor sides and washed the decks, and the passengers >had an uncomfortable time. The steamer, however, suffered no damage and during the gale she proved remarkably steady. The Niagara biought a record cargo — 1220 tons for Auckland, 240 tons /or southern porta, und 1.975 tons for AueIralio— and iiad v full paciseuger list.
