TRAMWAY LEGISLATION

DEPUTATION, TO MINISTER. Representatives of local bodies, and tramway corporations, attending the Tramway Conference in Wellington, will wait upon the Hon. W. Fraeer (Minister for Publio Works) and the Hon. H. 'D. Bell this evening to urge upon the Government the injustice of passing legislation in regard. to the tratns without iriving local bodies and their experts on opportunity of placing their views before a committee of the House. FRAMING REGULATIONS, The local hodies and employers' seotion of the Tramways Conference convened by the Minister for Publio Works (Hon. W. Froser) sat until 2 o'clock this morning considering the uruit vi^w, .eolations put before them by tho Minister. This morning the Tramway .Union representatives commenced their deliberations upon tho regulations and the amendments proposed by the employers. It will probably be to-morrow before they, are ready to meet the omployers in joint conference. ,
