LODGE MEETINGS
A meeting of Pacific Lodge, U. A. 0.D., was held on Monday evening, Arch Druid Bro. R. Kennedy presiding. The bards reported a considerable reduction in the cases of sickness experienced of late. After formal business had been dealt with and initiation held, the lodge adjourned for harmony, items being contributed by Bros. Oakey, Hearn, Clark, and Crombie. Visiting brethren from Excelsior Lodge were P.D.P. Bro. Lepper, Bros. Woodham and Jennings, jun. An official visit is to be paid Holley Lodge on Saturday evening. At the weekly sessions of the Pioneer Lodge, No. 11, 1.0. G.T., held in the Ptechabite Hall on Monday night, Bro. E. Sorrell, C.T., presiding, there was a good attendance. A hearty reception was given to Sisters Cook (2) and Bro. Cook, who have just arrived from England. The following were elected a Harmony Committee to arrange the programme for the ensuing term : — Sisters Dallas, Webb, Winter, Schulz, and Atkinson, Bros. Petherick and Browne. A letter was received from tho District Lodge with reference to the Grand Lodge Reception Fund. The item for the evening was a lecture on "Socialism," by Mr. R. A. Wright. Keen interest was taken in the subject, which was ably dealt with. At" the conclusion a vote of thanks was passed to the lecturer.
