GENERAL PRINCE KATSURA. (Received October 11, 11 a.m.) ( TOKIO, 10th October. General Prince Katsura is dead. [General Prince Katsura, Hon. G.C.8., was born in 1847, and educated at the Military School in Prussia. He entered the Army in 1867, eerved m the War of the Restoration, was military attache to the Japanese Legation at Berlin from 1875 to 1878, visited Germany for military purposes in 1884, and was viceMinister of tho Army from 1889 to 1891. He- achieved army reform, and for a time was Commander-in-Chief of the Third Division of the Japanese Army. H« served . in tho Chino- Japanese war from 1891-1895, \va« Governor-General of Formosa in 1896, Chief Commandant of the Tokio Bay Defenco from 1896 to 1898, War Minister from 1898 to 1900, ana Prime Minister from' l9ol la 1906, and again in. 1908 and 1912.1
