Following are the current quotations for Consols and Australasian Government stooks, as compared with those of laßt week: —

BANK RATES OF INTEREST^ The Bank of England rate was, on Bth February, 1912, reduced from 4 to 3i per cent., and on 9th May it was- further reduced to 3 per cent. On 29th August it was raised to 4 per cent., and on 17th October to 5 per cent. It was reduced to 4i per cent, on 17th April, 1913. On 2nd October it was raised to 5 per cent.' The Bank of Franoe rate was reduced from 3£ to 3 per cent, on 23rd January, 1908, and continued at the latter figure until 12th September, 1911, when it was raised to 3£ per cent. On 17th May, 1912, it was reduced to 3 per cent., on 17th October it was raised to 3i per cent., and on 30th October to 4 per oent. MARKET RATES OF DISCOUNT. Wheat. — The market is quiet, but steady; 36s 6d is asked for Australian, off coast. There is little demand for Australian cargoes, owing to the abundance of Northern Manitoban wheat, whioh is of excellent quality and oheap. Supplies of Australian, on spot, are practically exhausted, the nominal value being 38s to 38s 6d. t Small supplies of New Zealand are -offering at 365. Flour is steady. Australian patents on passage ate freely offered at 25s 9d, 0.i.f., but buyers are soaroe. Oats. — There is a small business doing; old A grade Gartons are quoted at 23s to 245, Sparrowbills 22b 6d to 23s 6d. Beans are neglected. There have been a few spot sales at 35s to 35s 6d. Peas are firm. No. 1 New Zealand maples, on spot, 44s to 45b 6d. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Butter is dull with a slightly easier tendency; prices are unchanged pending the arrival of new Victorian. Bacon ib flat. Australian is quoted at 68s. Sugar. — German beet, 88 per oent. net titre, 2d higher, at 9b 5d per cwt; first mark granulated, f.o.b. Hamburg, 6d higher, at 12b 3d. BRADFORD WOOL. There is better enquiry, but the turnover is small ; 64' s, 29d ; super 60'b, 28id ; common 60' s, 28d; 56's, 22Sd; 50's, 20|d; 46's, 16|d; 40's, 15Jd. METAL MARKET. Copper.— On spot, 37s 6d lower, at £72 5s per ton. Tin.— On spot, £2 15s lower, at £185 5s i per ton; three months, £2 12s 6d lower, at £186. Pig-iron.— Middlesboro' No. 3, Is 7d lower, at 53s per ton. Lead. — Soft foreign, 2b 6d lower, at £20 7b 6d per ton. Spelter, unohanged, at £21 per ton.
